To begin reclamation, a causeway was built from the Main Entrance at Kingabwa to where the Northwest corner of Main Island meets the channel.
Two months were spent strengthening and raising the causeway and a small platform on the channel edge.
Since establishing a foothold, the work of reclaiming land has gone relatively quickly, as more resources and manpower are constantly added.
